FC Edmonton defender Amer Didic joined CanPL.ca's Marty Thompson on the CPL's Instagram account for a live chat ahead of Thursday evening's OneSoccer rebroadcast of the club's statement win over Forge FC from last June. Didic, who was injured during the match, recalled a resilient side that entered Clarke Field winless in six matches. "It wasn't a good phase for us in terms of our performance," Didic recalled. "It was always going to be a tough game and leading up to that week we were focused on... getting an early goal and defending in our low block which we had at the time. "If we could get a goal, we knew we could defend it out." OneSoccer Classic rebroadcast: FC Edmonton vs. Forge FC (Thursday at 9 pm ET) Oumar Diouck's first-half marker was all the Eddies needed to take down Forge, who would go on to hoist the North Star Shield. Didic, who formally returned to the Eddies after a pre-season stint with the Vancouver Whitecaps this Spring, also spoke about his affection for an FC Edmonton side he joined just before the 2019 season after he famously drove from San Antonio to meet up with his new teammates. "Most of the guys knew each other in some way," Didic said. "We had seven or eight players from the academy's reserve team in 2012. "It felt like you never missed a beat like you just saw the guys a couple of days ago. It was unfortunate we couldn't work that chemistry into results, but we learned a lot." Didic also discussed controversial FCE locker room music choices, rated Bosnian food, and gushed about his three-year-old Golden Retriever. Follow the Canadian Premier League on Instagram here.
