Construction is heating up at Westhills Stadium, home ground of Pacific FC, as the hours tick down to the club's inaugural match on Sunday. Ticket sales are trending in a similar direction, according to club vice president Brad Norris Jones, who spoke to CanPL.ca late Monday. "Last I heard we're about 800 tickets away from being at full capacity for Sunday's match against HFX Wanderers," Norris Jones said. "So, with how they're moving, I would be shocked if I wake up Saturday morning and we don't have a sell-out. "If you look back at the history of Victoria, having a sell-out a day or two before an event of any kind is pretty rare." Construction crews were busy installing purple-and-white seats over the long weekend, along the pre-existing grandstand. The work has been documented on the City of Langford website, where a live camera has been showing the construction 24 hours a day. "We're all working holidays, extra time and overtime," Norris Jones continued. "The City of Langford and Pacific FC know how important it is to have the stadium at a level they can feel proud of." The renovation of Westhills began earlier this spring and set to bring the stadium capacity up to 6,000 with the addition of wooden stands alongside the existing grandstand and additional seating behind either goal. "It come together like LEGO," Norris Jones said of the two wooden stands. "Every time I come out it just seems it has taken another massive leap. It's gonna make it a great stadium once we're done with this process." While there won't be time to install seats on the wooden grandstands, PFC is asking their fans to get creative. "Bring a seat if you feel you need to — a blanket, a seat cushion, whatever." The overall capacity to the stadium will be reduced to 5,200 for the first match, Norris Jones said, citing continuing work along the stadium's east end — the family section. "We're gonna make this look good. We've put hours and hours of work together knowing we'll be about 85% complete," Norris Jones said. "I don't think people understand where we were a month ago and where we came from. "As a staff, as a city, we've come a long way and we've really step up to make this happen for our club and our fans."
